Registration Information for Summer Session 2017-2018 (173)

Registration confirmation is the only proof of registration for term 173 and can be submitted thru KFUPM portal. Registration confirmation will start from Sunday, 24th June, 2018 (7:30 AM onwards). Failing to do so will result in dropping of all courses and the term after the last day for late registration.

Registration Confirmation for term 173 (Very important)

Registration confirmation will start from Sunday, 24th June, 2018 7:30 AM  until  Tuesday, 26th June, 2018 (up to 12:00 Noon)

I. Students who Early Registered :
  • Any Student (excluding students registered in Coop/Summer Training in term 173) studying summer session must confirm his registration for term 173 thru KFUPM portal from Sunday, 24th June, 2018 (7:30 AM onwards) until Tuesday, 26th June, 2018 (up to 12 Noon). Otherwise, all his courses will be dropped on 26th June, 2018 (after 12 Noon).

     
  • Only the student himself can do the registration confirmation. Necessary action will be taken against the student if someone else does it for him.

 

II. Students who do not Early Register:
  • All students who were supposed to early-register but did not do it must visit KFUPM portal at http://portal.kfupm.edu.sa and submit registration confirmation from Sunday, 24th June, 2018 (7:30 AM onwards). After submitting confirmation, these students will be able to register through the web during the designated period in available sections only (see registration events).
III. Readmitted Students:
  • All readmitted students who had early-registered, can go directly to the KFUPM Portal at http://portal.kfupm.edu.sa to submit registration confirmation from Sunday, 24th June, 2018 (7:30 AM onwards). Readmitted students who did not early-register should also submit registration confirmation and then they will be able to register through the web during the designated period in available sections only (see registration events).
IV. Newly Promoted Freshman Students::
  • Students who are newly promoted to Freshman level must visit KFUPM portal at http://portal.kfupm.edu.sa for registration confirmation from Sunday, 24th June, 2018 (7:30 AM onwards). They should check their registration (if they have early registered courses) and make changes if necessary.
V. Co-op. Students:
  • Students who had early-registered for Co-op/Summer Training through the Deanship of Student Affairs are not required to submit registration confirmation. However, those who intend to drop Co-op/Summer Training should bring the completed Co-op/Summer Training drop form from the COOP office of Deanship of Student Affairs and submit it in Bldg. # 68 Room # 269, second floor to drop Co-op/Summer Training. Then, they can go KFUPM Portal to register for the available sections during the designated period.
VI. Pre-requisite/Co-requisite Courses:
  • Since students are fully responsible for their registration, it is entirely their responsibility to make sure that both the pre-requisite and co-requisite requirements have been met for their registered courses, i.e., they are required to drop any course(s), which has pre-requisite/co-requisite course that has not been taken or failed/withdrawn in the previous terms.
VII. Course Load:

a) For Students on GOOD STANDING Status:
  • The minimum course load is 12 credit hours during a regular semester, provided that the total number of credit hours registered by a student in any two consecutive semesters is not less than 28. This condition is relaxed in the last semester before graduation.
  • The maximum course load is 19 credit hours.
  • A student is permitted to register for 21 credit hours with the approval of his department chairman, if the student has maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 in all works undertaken during the preceding terms in which he earned his last 28 credit hours.
  • The minimum course load in a summer session is 1 credit hour and maximum is 8 credit hours.
b) For Students Not On GOOD STANDING Status:
  • The minimum course load is 12 credit hours during a regular semester.
  • The maximum course load is 15 credit hours during a regular semester.
  • Students who have early-registered in more than 15 credit hours and their academic status is not on GOOD STANDING should drop course(s) to bring the course load within 15 credit hours during a regular semester. Otherwise, their course(s) will be dropped after the last day of adding.
  • Students who are promoted to freshman level and whose cumulative GPA is less than 2.00 in prep. year program, their course load should not exceed 15 credit hours during a regular semester.
  • The maximum course load is 7 credit hours in summer session.
c) Last Term before Graduation:
  • The minimum course load for a student in his last term before graduation is 1 credit hour and the maximum is 20 credit hours (GOOD STANDING students only) during a regular semester provided the student’s cumulative GPA of all work undertaken during the preceding terms in which he earned his last 28 credit hours is not less than 2.00 out of 4.00.
Important Note:
Students are required to drop any course(s) which has pre-requisite/co-requisite course that has not been taken or failed/withdrawn in the previous terms.
